At 2MINDS we have designed and use our own PCBs.
Now our mapper, RHINO, contains everything in a single component (ARM); ROM, Mapper (SEGA compatible, by default), backup (if necessary) and can also contain advanced functions (decompression of different algorithms, rapid data preparation, ...)
We can also adapt the code of our mapper to your needs, in order to make your game unique.
